Serena Williams has fulfilled the wishes of her fans by finally making a comeback to the tour. The 23-time grand slam champion partnered with the current WTA world no.3, Ons Jabeur at the Eastbourne International.

Since her comeback at the Eastbourne International, fans all around the world were astonished by the American’s in-game sharpness. Tennis legend Chris Evert made note of Serena’s stance when she and her partner Ons Jabeur were in the midst of a rally in their first round match.

Chris Evert took note of Serena Williams’ ready position during their doubles bout against Sara Sorribes Tormo and Marie Bouzkova. In this rally, Ons Jabeur’s winner gained appreciation from the audience and a speechless reaction from the former world no.1.

However, Chris Evert’s attention was elsewhere as she took notice of the American legend’s ready position and commended it on her Twitter handle. She tweeted, “Good ready position, though!” The American player is finally back on court, and her fans are beaming with happiness.

The American-Tunisian pair had a slow start to the match as they lost the first set 2-6. However, the pair quickly gained momentum and won the second set, 6-3, forcing the match into a tiebreak. An arduous 10-point tie-break was won by the pair and they have now advanced to the second round. The pair will now face Shuko Aoyama and Chan Hao-ching in the second round.

Serena Williams will be looking to secure her 24th grand slam

The 23-time grand slam winner will be back at Wimbledon after suffering a hamstring injury last year at the same event. This time around, she will be striving for yet another grand slam title and equal the all-time record currently held by Margaret Court.
