The American tennis star, Sloane Stephens, started the Parma Ladies Open, brilliantly as she won her first-round match of the tournament. She defeated the Polish tennis player, Magdalena Fręch, 3-6 6-3 6-4.

However, despite her solid performance, Stephens had a displeasing experience during her first-round match. She took to her social media to talk about her experience during the match. Stephens is very active on her Twitter as she loves to converse with tennis fans.

Sloane Stephens talked about her displeasing experience

The American tennis player, Stephens, recently stated that she got stung by a bee in the third set of the match. She tweeted about her experience by stating, “I got stung by a bee at 4-4 in the 3rd set during my match today and it was not a pleasant experience. 0/10 – Do not recommend.”

Sloane Stephens called for the physio after she got stung by a bee. Stephens took a brief medical time-out as she was facing some discomfort during the third set. Despite her displeasing experience in the match, she defeated the Polish tennis player.

Magdalena Fręch broke back to tie the set to four-four during the third set, when the American was suffering some discomfort. But Stephens later went on to win the match and proceed to the second round of the Parma Ladies Open.

Stephens’ underperforming season

The American tennis star, Sloane Stephens, is having a disappointing season so far as she was knocked out in the initial rounds of major tournaments. The former US Open champion was knocked out in the second round of the US Open. Despite an impressive win in the first round of the tournament, the American was defeated by the world No. 1 and eventual champion, Iga Swiatek.

Stephens was also knocked out in the second round match of the Cincinnati Masters tournament by the same opponent. The Polish tennis player, Świątek defeated the American 6-4, 7-5. Stephens also participated in the Canadian Open. But she was again knocked out of the tournament by the Greek tennis player, Maria Sakkari. Stephens was defeated 6-2, 4-6, 6-2, in the round of 32.

The American star will now compete against the Montenegrin tennis player, Danka Kovinić, in the second round of the Parma Ladies Open.
