For Venus Williams, the ASB Classic turned out to be a horror show. During the tournament, which took place in New Zealand, Williams sustained an injury. It forced her to withdraw from the 2023 Australian Open. Since then, the tennis legend has been on the road to recovery. She is leaving no stone unturned to ensure she gets back on the court as soon as possible.
A recent Instagram post saw the tennis legend putting her all into exercise as she attempts to accelerate her comeback to the court. At the same time, she was answering some of her fans’ questions. One of the questions quizzed Venus about her biceps, and the 7-time Grand Slam winner had a hilarious response at the end of it.

Venus Williams reflects on cutting down on weight lifting
In Venus’ Instagram stories, the 42-year-old American tennis star answered her fans’ most pertinent tennis-related questions. However, one of the questions sprang a surprise on the veteran as it said, “Not tennis related but bicep check lol”.
As an answer to the question, Williams said, “I have not been lifting the same at all this year.” She also commented on her biceps, “So sadly the guns are smaller but still cute”.

Williams’ response reflects not only the love and affection she has for her fans, but also her lifelong commitment to tennis. Following her injury, Williams has also been more active on social media. She is slowly growing familiar with what works and what doesn’t work in the diverse digital landscape.

How far is Williams from making a comeback?
Venus Williams’ ASB Classic injury affected her hamstring. Since then, she has been on the road to recovery and all signs point to a future where she’s on the tennis court again. Sure, she might not be the powerhouse she once was in professional tennis. However, she still is a force to be reckoned with judging by her off-court commitment to keeping herself in shape. Throughout her career, Venus’ longevity was a thing worthy of admiration, appreciation and respect.

At 42, your powers of recovery are bound to slow down, and the same is the case for mighty Venus. All in all, she’s looking for confidence, and as soon as she feels confident, she is sure to be back on the tennis court.
