‘Happy for You Guys’ – Chris Evert Congratulates Gael Monfils and Elina Svitolina After Their Heart-Warming Announcement

Gael Monfils, the French tennis professional, and the Ukrainian tennis ace Elina Svitolina started dating in 2019. And went on to become one of the most cherished couples of tennis. The pair has achieved success in terms of tennis records, in addition to the respect and love from fans. Thereafter, they tied the knot in July last year and the entire tennis world celebrated their union. Now, after almost a year, the couple has given much bigger news.

Elina recently announced her pregnancy, which overwhelmed tennis fans and entities with joy. Players such as Naomi Osaka and Chris Evert congratulated the couple.

Chris Evert’s Responds to the Big News From Elina Svitolina

The former World no.3 took on Twitter to deliver the joyous news. She wrote, “With a heart full of love and happiness, “we are delighted to announce that we are expecting a baby girl in October.” To which 18 times Grand Slam champion responded by writing, “Beautiful couple; happy for you guys!”

Further, the four times Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka also gave her best wishes to the couple and wrote, “Congratulations. October babies are the best lol.”

Svitolina and Monfils’ Tennis These Days

The 27-year-old hasn’t had a single successful tournament this year. She started the year with a decent run till the third round of the Australian Open. However, after that she failed to secure a seat in the second round of most of the tournament. Currently ranked 27, Svitolina has not played a match since her defeat by Heather Watson at the Miami Open in March.

Speaking of Gael Monfils, he faced a second-round defeat against World No.1 Novak Djokovic at the Madrid Open. Thereafter, he announced that he will take a break from competitive tennis. Monfils took to social media to inform his fans that he is suffering from a faulty heel since 2022 Monte Carlo Open. Therefore, he would be withdrawing from the upcoming tournaments to undergo surgery. Gael will not participate in this year’s ATP Lyon Open and will keep out of the French Open as well.
