Though the rumors of Macci joining in as Gauff’s coach have been quashed, the veteran coach is still vouching for her. Gauff has joined hands with former Spanish men’s top 100 player, Pere Riba. Her father, Cori Gauff, who has been an integral part of her team likes Riba for his vast range of experiences on the court.
Nonetheless, Macci believed that he could guide Gauff to improve her singles game. He even vouched for her to become the world’s no. 1 player.

Macci has always praised Gauff for her prowess on the court. However, her forehand has always been her weak point, which leads her opponents to get the best of her.
The veteran coach claimed he could help her make the world no. 1. He focused on improving her forehand which if strengthened can let her dominate the WTA realm. However, Gauff has decided to choose to go different ways where a new generation coach is going to guide her with the changing trends of tennis.
