‘Hate These Old Male T*rds’- Martina Navratilova Vents Out Frustration Over South Carolina’s Latest Abortion Decision

Social media platforms allow everyone to express their views openly in a public setting. Martina Navratilova, who has never been afraid of voicing out her opinion, has utilized the platform to voice her strong opinions. She recently tweeted and showed her support for women in the United States to have control over their bodies.

The player previously has always been active in supporting women’s rights. After retiring, the 18-time Grand Slam champion is highly active on Twitter and uses the platform to stand up for her beliefs.

Martina Navratilova condemns South Carolina State Senate’s decision on women’s abortion

Navratilova has previously explicitly expressed her view on women’s rights. Recently, South Carolina made an effort to let the voters of the state decide on abortion laws through a constitutional referendum. However, this proposal was rejected. The party chair of the Democratic Party tweeted, “It is a sad day in SC… sad that a bunch of damn privileged men think they know better about a woman’s body and reproductive health than the WOMEN of SC. I hope they understand… we will not go back and we damn sure won’t forget!” 

Navratilova shared his tweet along with her statement on it. She tweeted, “I really hate these old male t*rds…” expressing her discontent with the ongoing debate on abortion laws in the country.

The tennis legend helped change the course of women’s tennis. There was a rise in popularity with Navratilova’s presence in the sport. Moreover, her legendary rivalry with one of her best friends, Chris Evert, put women’s tennis on an equal footing with that of the men’s circuit, especially when it came to garnering worldwide attention.

Consequently, this brought more investment from the corporate world. Later on, Serena Williams contributed to the same trend and changed the sport in her own way. Along with breaking the astounding singles record of legends such as Navratilova, Evert and Steffi Graf, Serena also went on to become an inspiration for the new generation of players.
