In a recent interview, she shared her thoughts on the difference between ATP and WTA tennis.

Williams highlighted the challenges of playing two sets and how it often leads to surprises and upsets in women’s tennis. Throughout her career, she has been vocal about the gender pay gap in sports and has actively fought against it. Venus Williams shares details about a controversial WTA topic
Venus Williams has once again become a spokesperson for a controversial topic in the WTA. On an exclusive YouTube podcast, she was asked about the difference in rules between men’s and women’s tennis. The interviewer asked her about the use of different balls. He also highlighted the fact that women only play three sets while men play five in Major tournaments, such as the US Open. Regarding the use of different balls, Williams appeared to have little concern. The American answered, “Honestly, I’ll pick up any ball and play with any ball at any time, so it’s like my game isn’t changing too much..”

Williams recognized that there are varying views on the topic, including those held by her coach. Although some contend that men’s tennis is more physically grueling due to the lengthier matches, Williams maintains that shorter matches in women’s tennis result in more unpredictability and upsets. Consequently, this adds to the sport’s overall excitement and unpredictability.

Williams noted that playing two sets can be harder in some ways because it’s more of a “sprint.” The 7 time Grand Slam champion shared, “You have to come out firing.”
