Whether it is on 0r off-court, a lot of things get radically changed for the WTA players after embracing motherhood. It was very much the case for Serena Williams whose performance levels in various tournaments declined following her maternity break. Even so, the American tennis legend found it far simpler to snap out of the disappointment of a defeat as she had to think about the much more important parental tasks.

The ‘Queen of the Court’ was not overly concerned about her matches while she was ardently taking care of her little daughter, Olympia. However, it now looks like Williams isn’t the only one in the women’s circuit who had such sensations owing to her off-court duties. Even the Ukrainian tennis player, Elina Svitolina recently opened up about sharing the same feelings after embracing parenthood.

Elina Svitolina gives a nod to Serena Williams’ feelings toward parenthood

Just like the former tennis ace, Elina Svitolina also made a stunning comeback to the women’s circuit after her maternity break in the previous season. Notably, the 28-year-old player was recently questioned about whether or not she experiences not being “self-defeating” about her on-court performances while caring for her little one.

In her press conference at the Citi Open, Svitolina said, “Yeah, for sure, because you come back home and you see this small baby and you’re, like, Okay, I cannot be sad, I have to do a million things. You know, Skai right now, she’s like not running but like crawling everywhere. You have to watch out, you have to run after her.”

While diligently following the parental duties, the Ukrainian tennis star said that she rarely gets to think about herself or being at her optimum level on the court. But at the same time, Svitolina hasn’t forgotten about her responsibilities as a player as she also opened up about analyzing her on-court performances.

In the press conference, the former world No. 3 said that she does realize her duties as an athlete while following the parental role. Svitolina said, “But also, you know, I understand that, you know, I have to sit down after the loss, I have to analyze, I have to speak with my coach”

In the aftermath of a defeat on the court, the WTA player understands that she must confer with her coach in order to make improvements in her game. Given her remarkable campaign in the grass-court major event, Svitolina has made it clear that she is perfectly juggling her on and off-court duties.
