There is no denying that Venus Williams and Serena Williams have established themselves as legendary figures in women’s tennis. While having a combined 30 singles Grand Slam titles, both American tennis stars have also reached the world No. 1 ranking during their respective journeys on the tour. However, the Williams sisters’ illustrious legacies aren’t the fruit of their labor alone.

Toiling behind Venus and Serena since their childhood has been their father, Richard Williams, who went above and beyond to support both his girls to pursue their passion for the racket game. Reflecting on his remarkable role in his daughters’ tennis journey, the legendary American coach Rick Macci recently hailed ‘King’ Richard.

The biographical sports drama film ‘King Richard’ perfectly portrays the Williams sisters’ rise to the top echelons of the racket game with the unending support of their father. Richard Williams, who also took on coaching duties for his girls during their childhood, went above and beyond to the point where he questioned his own decisions regarding Venus and Serena.

Notably, the Willaims sisters’ childhood coach, Rick Macci, recently didn’t hold himself back from lauding ‘King’ Richard while also labeling him as ‘stubborn.’ The legendary American coach tweeted, “He never Wavered Blinked Doubted Second Guessed Hesitated or Retreated in Any Decision with his girls.
