Taylor Townsend is currently enjoying the spotlight at Wimbledon 2024. She and her partner in crime, Katerina Siniakova recently made it to the women’s doubles final by defeating top-seeded Hsieh Su-wei and Elise Mertens. This marks Townsend’s first Grand Slam doubles final at Wimbledon. However, before their last Aamatch against No. 2 seeds, Gabriela Dabrowski and Erin Routliffe, Townsend opened up about how two candid Instagram conversations got her the most valuable things.
“I looked on Instagram and I had a DM from Kat (Katerina Siniakova),” she said. “I was like, I don’t know if you saw what happened but you want to play and I was like, yeah, and I felt so terrible ‘cause I’ve never done that before.” This Instagram message led to the successful connection for Taylor, who generally took the courts with WTA stars like Caroline Dolehide or Sofia Kenin.

Along with that, Instagram also helped Townsend connect with a really strong management team. “So he’s (Kenny Hamilton) actually my manager,” she revealed. “I started working with him and his team and everyone. I have a really great management team at Stones Way, so they’re fantastic. And yeah, he slid into my DMs too. I’m two for two. All the best things in your life.”
Kenny Hamilton, on the other side, also reciprocated the excitement for Taylor Townsend’s campaign. He posted pictures from her practice sessions at Wimbledon along with a caption that said, “The grind continues. Getting practice in for a big quarterfinal match today.” His support and management seem to be paying off as Townsend stands just one step behind to etch Wimbledon glory.

Katerina Siniakova’s quick chemistry with American WTA stars
Katerina Siniakova has a massive record in the doubles category. Although the Czechian is not permanently associated with Taylor Townsend, their on-court chemistry is palpable as it has brought the duo close to winning a massive title. However, Townsend isn’t the only American WTA star who benefitted from Sinikova’s support.

During the French Open, Coco Gauff didn’t have her doubles partner Jessica Pegula available and she was therefore looking for someone to team up with. As things turned out, the Czechian had a small conversation with the US Open champion and they both mutually agreed upon taking the clay courts together. Their partnership shined on, as Gauff and Siniakova lifted the doubles Roland Garros trophy.
Now that she is moving ahead with Taylor Townsend to navigate through the challenges, not only her doubles excellence is evident but also her tendency to quickly cope with new companions.
