The father of Venus and Serena Williams supported his tennis daughters through thick and thin. He helped them realize their dream of becoming who they are today.

However, outside of the tennis court, Richard Williams had a hard time maintaining his personal relationships. He was once accused by her estranged daughter, Sabrina Williams, of not being the father she wanted.

King Richard has six kids from his first marriage with Betty Johnson. But unknowingly, for some reason, he left the family someday. And never looked back at his kids. Further, he moved on with his life, and married tennis legends Williams sisters’ mother, Oracene Price, becoming an inspirational father to his daughters from the second marriage.

Serena Williams’ father’s estranged daughter once described her father from her perspective 

Back in 2020, in an interview with The U.S. Sun, the 80-year-old tennis coach’s daughter from his first marriage talked about her relationship with her father. She emphasized that he was absent whenever her siblings or her mother needed him by their side.

She said, “He is a selfish man, lives only for himself, he just uses his kids to get what he needs. He’s not a dad, he was just a sperm donor.” He had five kids, and left them to my mom to grow up in poverty, and never once helped.”

Although, for some of his kids, King Richard may not have been a good father they always wanted. However, his son, LeSane, who is the stepbrother to the iconic tennis duo,  praised him for being a ‘super dad’ and detailed how Richard is a ray of hope to his children.

Williams sisters’ stepbrother once addressed his father as ‘Super Dad’ 

A few months back, the 80-year-old tennis coach’s son, in a conversation with the U.S. Sun, talked about his father’s current situation. He addressed him as a ‘super dad’, explaining the way he is co-parenting his youngest son with his ex-wife, Lakeisha Graham, even after being engaged in a bitter legal battle due to their divorce.

Additionally, he also talked about how his father’s current health condition is not allowing him to lead a happy life.

Richard Williams had three consecutive strokes that prevents him from speaking in a coherent manner. But then too, his stepson detailed how he still tries his best to communicate with his children.
