Serena Williams is undoubtedly one of the best tennis players in the world, with fans spanning the whole world. Even her opponents can not stop themselves from being in awe of the tennis star. ATP stars like Andy Murray, Andy Roddick, Rafael Nadal, and others have never fallen short of her praises.

The American player had played against Andy Roddick in 2009 when she defeated him. After the match, she jokingly mocked his defeat and praised herself.

When Serena Williams savored her victory over Andy Roddick

Serena Williams had played a charity match against Andy Roddick in 2009 in which she came out victorious. However, she did not let Roddick get off the hook with just a defeat.

She took to her Twitter to announce her victory and stated, “Morning guys!! Yesterday in Elton John charity I AGAIN beat Andy Roddick. That make me 3 and 0 against him!! He’s not very good. I’m better.” The player mocked Roddick jokingly and designated herself better than him.

Both the players are great friends, and have known each other since they were eight years old. They have also trained together for four years in Florida.

The friendship between the two players extends till now. Andy Roddick praises Serena Williams’ resilience and passion to get on the tennis court even now.

What is Williams planning after Wimbledon?

Serena Williams made a comeback on the grass court at the Eastbourne International with Ons Jabeur in the doubles; after almost a year-long hiatus of the player. Following that, she played at Wimbledon, however, Harmony Tan of France defeated her in the first round.

However, that has not dampened her spirits. She is practicing for the hard court season which will culminate in the major of the US Open.
