French tennis coach Patrick Mouratoglou, who chose to leave American tennis legend Serena Williams few months ago, partnered with Simona Halep to shape up the second leg of her career. While the partnership didn’t result in instant success, Halep appeared to have gained the required confidence to prepare her for big matches.

As everything looked smooth, the Romanian star was forced to call it quits on her 2022 WTA season owing to a nose surgery. Owing to this move, Patrick announced another collaboration with young ATP tennis player Holger Rune. The French coach took to Twitter to announce this.

There was no clarity whether Mouratoglou will leave Rune once Simona is back next year and tennis fans decided to voice their opinions on the same.

Looking at this new collaboration, a Serena Williams fan wrote, “We are tired, Patrick.”

Another fan commented, “He’s such a blood sucker.”

Mouratoglou, who always speaks his mind, has confirmed in his tweet that Simona Halep ‘encouraged’ him to coach another player. While the Romanian is yet to respond officially, a Twitter user feels that Patrick finds a way to be ‘in front of the cameras.’

Another user takes a sarcastic swipe at the French coach by writing, “everyone pretend to be shocked now.”

Another fan went a notch further and said, “How many lives is he gonna ruin?”

Fans of Simona Halep, however, look relieved listening to Patrick’s announcement.

Mouratoglou confirming that it’s Halep who advised him to explore other options makes fans accuse the French coach of lying.

Another user came up with yet another jibe by writing, “Please can someone check if this man has cloned himself. He is everywhere.”

Patrick temporarily leaving Halep also makes fans wonder if the Romanian star is retiring from the sport.

“Definition of jobless,” another comment read.

A user made his hate for Patrick clear by writing, “HE DID NOT. Wth, I HATE HIM MORE NOW.”

Fans are also shocked to see Patrick mentioning ‘special bond’ while referring to Holger Rune.

Patrick Mouratoglou’s latest collaboration with Holger Rune clearly invited more hate for the French coach as they are afraid that Simona Halep would end up getting retired the same way as Serena Williams did. As of now, there is no confirmation on Patrick continuing as Halep’s coach once she decides to make a comeback on the WTA tour.
