Not long ago, the movie ‘King Richard’ was released, and it was very well received by the audiences. The main role of Richard Williams was played by Hollywood superstar Will Smith.

Serena Williams and sister Venus had the final approval
Recently, the actor revealed an interesting aspect of him having to receive clearances from the Williams sisters. He remembered the moment when Serena and Venus loved the movie. Upon getting their approval, he was glad.

Smith spoke on the subject and stated, “Once Venus, Serena, and the family signed off, they said they loved the movie I was done. So everything after that is icy, so I’m ecstatic. Yeah, that was terrible. You’ve seen Hollywood can really jank up a story. They said they wanted to wait and see it and if they liked it they would lend their name but they were supporting it.”

Coming to tennis, Serena has been missing in action since the Wimbledon Championships last season. Sadly, Serena suffered an ankle injury during the match, forcing her to retire in the tournament opener at the Championships.
Venus last played on the tour at the WTA Chicago Women’s Open in August last year. Unfortunately, she exited the tournament in her opening round. Williams sisters missed the 2021 US Open and the first Major Down Under earlier this season.
