Naomi Osaka has been one of the elite players on the women’s circuit over the past few years. The Japanese star achieved success at a young age when she defeated Serena Williams in the 2018 US Open final to lift her maiden Grand Slam title. Since then, she has added another three major titles to take her tally to four Grand Slam title victories.

Despite her immense success, the 24-year-old hasn’t had the greatest of times since her Australian Open win in 2021. At the French Open last year, she withdrew from the tournament midway owing to mental health issues. Additionally, she also pulled out of the Wimbledon Championships 2021. Further, she lost form and had early exits at tournaments this season. Consequently, she has taken numerous interests outside of tennis to keep her relaxed. Recently, Osaka reacted to Nicki Minaj’s latest performance.

Naomi Osaka becomes emotional after Nicki Minaj’s performance

The former World Number 1 took to Instagram to express her emotions about Minaj’s latest performance at the Wireless Festival. Sharing a story on her official Instagram handle, Osaka said, “I would’ve been crying.”

Earlier, Minaj had shared a glimpse of her performance at the Wireless Festival on Instagram. She said, “So in love with this crowd tonight. Wow. I’m working on smthng for my fans tonight & tmrw as well. I’ll keep you guys posted.”

Osaka is a huge fan of the Trinidadian rapper. She had heaped praise on Minaj, saying, “I got so many memories tied in with her music. I grew up with her.”

Roddick appreciates Osaka talking about mental-health

During a recent podcast, the American legend talked about Osaka’s mental health issues. He said, “I think a lot of people are going through a lot of things and I respect Naomi for kind of coming out and talking about it.”

Osaka had recently skipped the Wimbledon Championships due to an Achilles injury. However, she’ll hope to get her fitness back in time for the upcoming hard-court season.
