Canadian tennis star Bianca Andreescu gave a landmark performance in the year 2019. Coming into the season ranked outside the top 50, she claimed the Indian Wells title, followed it up with the title at Rogers cup before finally claiming the biggest title of her career to date, the US Open. However, recently, the star player decided to sit out of the tour citing mental health issues.

The 22-year-old returned to the tour in April. However, the Canadian has struggled to regain her best form. Despite starting well in both the French Open and the Wimbledon Championships, the former world no.4 failed to go past the second round.

She recently took part in the Silicon Valley Classic. The 22-year-old yet again gave a disappointing performance as she lost her first-round match.

Andreescu struggled with injury

The Canadian tennis star was struggling with a back injury in the match. The 22-year-old had the problem for a few days but felt good before the match. However, the injury worsened as the game progressed. Here’s what the WTA Insider reported.

“I was hoping for a miracle.” Will get an MRI today,” said Andreescu.

Playing against Shelby Rogers of the US, she lost the match in straight sets. The Canadian was to feature in the Canadian Open next. However, with the injury concern now, her participation looks doubtful.
