As we are couple of weeks short for the release of the highly anticipated movie concerning the life of Williams sisters, the official twitter account of King Richard, starring Will Smith as Richard Williams, shared a clip of Venus and Serena Williams visiting the shoot one day.

A highly energetic Serena embraced Will Smith and greeted, “How are you daddy”?. The movie covers the journey of Venus and Serena and their family’s struggle to make both of them successful in the sport of tennis.

“Looking good, Dad. You are doing a good job with the accent”, Serena told Will Smith, appreciating the actor of his efforts.

As both the Williams sisters enter the set, they met Demi Singleton and Saniyya Sidney, the actors who are playing Serena and Venus respectively in the movie. Will Smith could also be seen talking to Serena about Demi’s incredible efforts to learn the sport.

During one of their conversations inside the set, both the sisters reminisced their past and the fun moments they shared with each other. Talking to Demi Singleton, Venus said, “You are gonna have a crush on a guy named ‘York’. Serena…She’s gonna fall in love with someone named ‘York'”. 

The younger Williams sister was quick to respond and told, “Oh..he’s not gonna be into you”. 

Williams sisters had a forgettable run on WTA tour this year

It would have been a great experience for both the young girls to see Venus and Serena Williams share their stories and have a quick laugh over the same. King Richard hits the screens on the 19th of this month.

Coming to the performances of Serena and Venus this year, it was a forgettable year for both the sisters as Serena couldn’t perform to her expectation post the semi-final run at the Australian Open.

While the American was expected to succeed at SW19, she was forced to retire from her first-round match against Aliaksandra Sasnovich due to the ankle injury she suffered after a slip on-court.

Venus Williams, on the other hand, was deservedly given few wild-card opportunities at several tournaments. But the seven-time grand slam champion couldn’t dominate her opponents and bowed out in the initial rounds.

Both the sisters will be looking to make a great effort on the 2022 WTA season, starting with the Australian Open, where the duo faced each other in the finals four years ago.
