However, the Reddit co-founder eventually paid a price for stepping into his father’s territory and had his company bought out in part by Concur. Ohanian recently attended the Yahoo Finance Global Conference 2023, where he talked about how the rapid growth of technology hurts .

He said, “I was literally planning a vacation with my wife, yesterday using ChatGPT. I had an act as a premium concierge travel agent, which also hurts my heart a bit. My father has been a travel agent his entire life, thankfully he just retired. I even started a travel search company called Hipmunk. My dad’s travel agency outlived my startup. it hurt the ego.”

However, this isn’t the first time the Reddit co-founder has taken his father’s success as a motivating factor. Last year, he shared a touching message for his father on Twitter to honor his commitment and perseverance in building his business.
