Serena Williams has gone a long way from playing tennis on Compton’s open public courts to becoming the nation’s top tennis player. But even after creating a huge name in the world of professional tennis, Serena has not forgotten her Compton roots. Lately, the 41-year-old tennis player gave fans a preview of her Compton attitude that’s still inside her, despite leaving Compton nearly 30 years ago. The city’s cuisine is still on her mind, as she vibes with Kanye West’s 2007 release to the fullest.

Well, for context, the former tennis player and her family are enjoying a wonderful vacation in Italy. Leaving everything aside, something happened during the vacation that reminded her of Compton out of nowhere.

Serena Williams recalls her Compton cuisine vibes 

The 23-time Grand Slam champion is very connected to her roots, whether it be to the city she grew up in or to the lessons her parents taught her during her early days. But now, even after retiring from the tennis circuit, something happened that made her think of her Compton cuisine. While they were in Italy, the American tennis legend visited a fancy restaurant for dinner. She enjoyed the food with Kanye West’s one of the most popular tracks of all time.

When she ordered bologna, which apparently looked like salami to her that they used to have in Compton. She took to her Instagram stories, and shared a hysterical tale of how the real bologna is quite different from the one she used to have back when she was  young. She said, “So this is real bologna, not the type that we had in Compton. Looks like a little salami that’s what we call salami in Compton. But I am at a nice restaurant, so I am gonna act nice.” 

After that, she also made a little bologna sandwich in her own way, with mini bread pieces.

She was so impressed with the beautiful presentation of the food; she shared a video of the variety of dishes they had ordered. And expressed her happiness with the food by adding Kanye West’s song “Good Morning”. Not only did she just listen to West’s song.

Williams attended a Beyonce concert during their Paris trip 

While the rest of the tennis world is preoccupied with the French Open, the 41-year-old pregnant tennis great is enjoying her retired life. She recently attended Beyonce’s concert in a completely different mood. Many followers of her Instagram account uploaded some behind-the-scenes videos showing how Williams had a good time at the legendary singer’s concert.
