Serena Williams is one of the most successful players of all time and also is one of the highest-earning female athletes in the sporting sphere. In 2017, she married the co-founder of Reddit. an internet entrepreneur and a celebrity by his own accord, Alexis Ohanian.

Alexis is one of Serena’s biggest fans and he is often seen cheering for his wife from the side. The couple and are very supportive of each other’s businesses. Serena even opened up about how Ohanian inspired her to open her new venture capital firm, Serena Ventures.

Serena Williams’ husband launched his new fellowship focusing on climate change

Ohanian himself is a big deal in the world of tech. He co-founded Reddit in 2005 and in 2020, he gave up his chair in the board of Reddit. The internet entrepreneur is now involved with another venture capital firm, Seven Seven Six, which focuses on investing in companies dealing with software and tech.

Recently, the company launched the 776 Foundation, which will be conducting a fellowship dealing with Climate Change. Climate change is one of the gravest realities that the world is dealing at the moment. The foundation was launched on Tuesday,  which is a poignant but a special day for Ohanian. It is on this day, 14 years ago, that his mom passed away.

Alexis mentioned that he no longer wants to associate the day with sadness. Serena Williams shared the post, applauding her husband for the initiative and commenting about how proud she was of him.

“I’m tired of this day being a sad day for me and our family, so I’m launching the @776foundation (mission: fight inequity worldwide) so we can always remember Mar 15 as the day I began a legacy of good work to honor her,” expressed the internet entrepreneur.

It was great to witness Alexis Ohanian coming up with a much-needed initiative as he continues to strive and make a difference through his investments and thoughts in the business world.
