Ons Jabeur, the Tunisian tennis professional, has had the career highest ranking of world no.7 in singles. Although, she is yet to win her first singles title in a WTA 1000 tournament.

However, she is the highest-ranked Arab player in ATP and WTA ranking history. Also in the Australian Open 2020, she enlisted herself as the first Arab woman to reach the quarterfinals of a Grand Slam. Recently, while speaking for a podcast, she shared who she would like to pair with for a mixed double.

Ons Jabeur Says Sorry in Advance

Upon being asked about who Ons would like to partner with if the masters, such as Miami, Indian Wells, and Monte Carlo, were to host mixed doubles events more often. The Tunisian sided with current ATP world no.5 Stefanos Tsitsipas by saying, I get along with the Tsitsipas a lot. I mean, we say hi and I know his team. I used to work with his fitness coach before.” In addition, she complemented Stefanos’ hair and jokingly said, “He can maybe give me some tips about his hair.”

Jabeur’s Run in Charleston Open

The USA-based tournament is the first clay-court tournament of this year. Ons, after beating the heat at Miami with a decent run till the fourth round, tested her luck in the green clay of South Carolina. The right-handed tennis ace took straight-set victories over Navarro, Begu and Kalinina.

Following this, she fought tooth and nail against American Amanda Anisimova in the semifinals. However, just one step away from the trophy, she fell prey to 25-year-old gold medalist Belinda Bencic. Bencic outfoxed the Tunisian by 6-1, 5-7, 6-4.
