Martina Navratilova unhappy with the latest Master Card campaign

The tennis legend took to Twitter to make her displeasure felt over the latest campaign of Master Card. She said, “Am I the only one who doesn’t like the Sterling K Brown ad for Master card? And I love him- it’s the ad I find annoying…”

Further, the new campaign revolves around Master Card’s collaboration with Stand Up To Cancer in which the platform encourages consumers to order online or tap their Mastercard at qualifying restaurants and grocery stores between now and July 15. By doing so, the brand will donate one cent per purchase up to $5 million to the organization. However, the ad involves a light-hearted tone.

Talking about this initiative, Sterling K. Brown said, “I’m honored to be a part of this collaboration with Mastercard supporting Stand Up To Cancer’s goal of making every cancer patient a long-term survivor. The fact that Mastercard is making it so easy to donate through everyday dining and groceries is incredibly special.”

Navratilova criticizes Wimbledon’s ban on Russian and Belarusian athletes

On the back of rising geopolitical tensions in Eastern Europe, Wimbledon announced a decision to ban Russian and Belarusian athletes from the tournament this year. Opposing this decision, Navratilova said, “I just don’t think this solves anything. It just adds kind of more negativity to the whole situation, as bad as it is.”

Additionally, top tennis players in the world, like Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal have had similar opinions as Navratilova. Due to Wimbledon’s decision, the tournament will miss players like Daniil Medvedev and Aryna Sabalenka competing this year.
