This is not the first time a vessel operated by OceanGate Expeditions was lost. In an expedition last year, the same vessel lost its way during a similar dive. But the search for the current one is still underway.

A massive rescue operation was initiated in the Atlantic after a tourist submarine went missing in the region. The mission was launched as the signal from the sub was lost an hour and 45 minutes it went underwater. The firm behind the exploration, OceanGate, said that they are employing all options at their disposal to locate the submarine.

Along with them, the American and Canadian navies and commercial deep-sea firms are also looking for lost passengers. The missing ship is a submersible the size of a truck. It can carry five people and comes with a four-day supply of Oxygen. Hamish Harding, a 58-year-old British billionaire businessman and explorer, is among those on the missing submarine, as confirmed by his stepson.

As the news gained more traction, Martina Navratilova and Rennae Stubbs also reacted to it on their Twitter pages. Navratilova shared the HuffPost’s article about the situation as she said, “Submarine Exploring Titanic Wreckage Goes Missing; Search Underway | HuffPost Latest News- Yikes. I think I will on this opportunity anyway….”

Stubbs commented on another post that talked about the submersible being bolted shut from the outside. Therefore, even if they are above water, they will still need a crew to get out from it.

Stubbs was outraged at the practice and aimed to empathize due to her feeling claustrophobic in an MRI machine. “Omfg!!!!! Hell no! I hate going in an MRI MACHINE these days!! This is gross malpractice and so many other things. I cant!
