‘I Have Felt Creeped Out’ – Emma Raducanu Talks About Her Haunting Experience After Her Stalker Gets a Restraining Order

British tennis star Emma Raducanu has already achieved many things in her short career. The Brit won her first Grand Slam title when she was only 18. Although her performance hasn’t been great this year, she’s still one of the most popular tennis players around the world. 

Meanwhile, her popularity may have caused some problems for her. Last year, she faced a serious issue regarding a stalker who constantly bothered her family and her. After a complaint, the judge finally gave a verdict, deciding the fate of the stalker.

Raducanu’s stalker gets the punishment

According to reports, a 35-year-old guy named Amrit Magar walked around 23 miles to reach Emma Raducanu’s house in London. Last year, between November to December, he visited her house quite often; Doing many unwanted things. The man stole many things from the outside of their house and also left a few gifts for Emma. 

Later, police arrested the man after Emma’s father caught him red-handed. Consequently, he has been issued a five-year restraining order, along with 18 months of community service.

In a statement, Emma talked about the discomfort she felt while going out of her home. “Since all this has happened I have felt creeped out. I feel very apprehensive if I go out, especially if I am on my own,” Emma said to the court.

“Because of this I feel like my freedom has been taken away from me. I am constantly looking over my shoulder. I feel on edge and worried this could happen again. I don’t feel safe in my own home, which is where I should feel safest. I want to move to a new house with better security because I am worried he might come back as he knows where my home is,” Emma further stated

Emma Raducanu continues to have a terrible 2022

After a disappointing Australian Open, Raducanu was hoping for a strong comeback in Guadalajara. However, she had to withdraw from her first-round match against Daria Saville. After sustaining a hip injury in the third set, she had to retire from the match. Incidentally, this was the longest WTA match of 2022, which lasted 3 hours and 36 minutes. 

Previously, the British player lost to Danka Kovinic in the second round of the Australian Open. After her loss in Guadalajara, she has lost five out of eight matches she played since winning the US Open. However, this is only the start of the season, as she can make a strong comeback in the following months.
