The former Olympic champion and her husband just witnessed a robbery incident involving two perpetrators. While detailing her terrifying encounter, the current resident of Chicago revealed how she had never felt so frightened in the country.

The former Puerto Rican tennis player has always been a ferocious and powerful figure on the court. But while watching a harrowing crime incident, even a tennis phenom like Monica Puig has the same level of fright. Notably, the 29-year-old was completely shocked after she witnessed a robbery involving two presumably armed perpetrators.

The former Olympic champion was alongside her husband, Nathan Rakkit when she saw those culprits robbing a phone store. While emphasizing the details of the terrifying incident, she revealed how those robbers took some iPhones from the store and stuffed them in their pockets. Puig also indicated that she was suspicious that one of the culprits was carrying a firearm in his bag. She said on her Instagram story, “One of them had a backpack facing his front and I instantly thought the worst. Thankfully, nobody moved or did anything while the men were walking out.”

Notably, Puig is worried about the younger generation and kids who might be living in this city. After witnessing that horrifying encounter, the former WTA player has also urged the authorities to take necessary action to eradicate gun violence and other crimes from the country.
She also said, “But with everything going on in the world nowadays, I have never felt so unsafe.”
Puig further urged the other citizens to be always cautious about any such incident and be extra vigilant of their surroundings.
