42-year-old Venus Williams‘ best days on the tennis court may be well and truly behind her. However, considering the fact that she is yet to call time on her career, it’s safe to say that her passion for playing tennis is still intact. Right now, Venus is recovering from a hamstring injury she sustained in Auckland ahead of the 2023 Australian Open. As a result, she has plenty of time on her hands to focus on her business ventures and also take to social media to interact with her fans and followers. Recently, the 7-time Grand Slam winner answered questions from her fans on Instagram. When one of them quizzed Venus regarding prize money, she had a rib-tickling answer at the end of it.

Venus Williams provides a comical answer and has her fans in splits

The official Instagram page of Venus’ skincare and activewear brand EleVen recently shared a story, which featured Venus answering some of her fans’ most pertinent questions. One of the questions went, “When you receive prize money, how long does it take to deposit into your account?

Venus answered, “Honestly, I don’t know. I haven’t had any prize money in a while so…”. She followed her answer up with a hilarious expression. She used her hand to cover her mouth and rolled her eyes, providing comic relief in the process.

Venus’ last Grand Slam title came at the 2009 US Open, where she clinched the women’s doubles title alongside sister Serena Williams. The Williams sisters faced Liezel Huber and Cara Black, who, at the time, were the World No. 1 in the WTA doubles rankings and the defending US Open women’s doubles champions.
