The former Russian tennis star, Anna Kournikova, fell in love with the Spanish pop singer, Enrique Iglesias, during her tennis journey. Kournikova and Iglesias got featured in a popular music video “Escape”. The couple also recalled their first meeting during the shooting of the music video in 2001.

There were many intimate scenes between Kournikova and Iglesias in the music video that was released in 2002. Additionally, the Spanish singer once revealed that he was embarrassed when people asked him about his first meeting with his tennis star girlfriend.

Enrique Iglesias answered the question by saying,  “yeah that is I’m embarrassed to say that actually I always try to tell people.”

He further stated that he lied to people about his first meeting with the former Russian tennis player. Iglesias went on to say, “I tell people that I actually met my girlfriend before because I don’t want to tell them that I met my girlfriend on set.”

The Spanish pop singer has been in a romantic relationship with Kournikova for more than two decades.  However, despite their two-decade relationship that started in 2001, the couple has not tied the knot yet. She also talked about the idea of mutual respect and trust in a relationship. She further stated that it is much more important than marriage.

Iglesias once revealed that he was embarrassed in front of his kids

The Spanish pop singer once talked about an awkward incident with his kids, during an episode of ‘The Jess Cagle show’. Iglesias revealed that his kids once recognized his voice in the music video “Escape”. He further revealed that his kids asked him about their mom as she was involved in many passionate scenes.

Enrique went on to say that he was embarrassed when he saw the expression on his kids’ faces. The popular track “Escape” by Iglesias was released in 2002. The music video of the track also involved many intimate scenes between Kournikova and Iglesias. As a result, there were many rumors surrounding the couple dating each other.
