Venus Williams met Billie Jean King
The 7-time Grand Slam champion, Venus recently had her yearbook signed by the tennis legend Billie Jean King during a recent meeting. She also shared a photo with King on her Instagram with the caption, “She signed my book @billejeanking #usopen”. In her stories, Venus uploaded a series of videos that showed the two legends having a fun conversation about their first meeting.

While they were looking at Venus’s yearbook, they went through their old photos. They recalled their first meeting all the way back in 1988. Venus was only eight and her sister Serena was seven when they met King at a Domino’s Pizza World Team Tennis clinic in Long Beach. Venus reminisced and said, “I look like a giant.” Replying to this, King said, “Yes, you were a giant. I was looking up at you right there.”
Since then, the Williams sisters have had an impressive two-decade career and they both have created some extraordinary records in tennis.

Williams sisters at the US Open
In the opening round of the US Open doubles competition, Lucie Hradecka and Linda Noskova of the Czech Republic defeated Serena and Venus Williams 7-6(5) 6-4. Williams played their final doubles match together at the US Open.
The US Open has made a heartfelt gesture to commemorate this occasion, and shared a video of it on Twitter. Pictures of the Williams sisters’ journey in tennis over the years were displayed in the their locker rooms. Additionally, Olympia Ohanian and the Williams sisters received some lovely gifts as well. The video’s caption said, “The queens’ lockers are ready.”

The US Open has provided the Williams sisters with many memorable matches. Along with their incredible achievements in singles, the sisters have also teamed up to win 2 Grand Slam titles in Flushing Meadows.
