In a candid interview with Si.com back in 2014, Williams talked about her father’s books, her pet peeves, and many other things. During the interview, the interviewer asked her a fun question about her ordering details at Starbucks. In reply, the tennis player became really excited and said, Oh, this is good. You ready?

Later, the interviewer asked whether they got her name wrong ever. Williams replied, Actually, they never get it wrong.

After hearing her response, the interviewer said, Really? You’re the first person who has ever said that.

However, Williams revealed the reason for that as she said,Well, I never give my name. I always give ‘Sam’.

During the pre-tournament press conference at the Wimbledon Championships 2022, one interviewer asked the 23-time Grand Slam champion about her expectation from the tournament. In reply, Williams said, “You know the answer to that.”

Later, in the same press conference, one interviewer asked her about her draw as she could have drawn against the world no.1 Iga Swiatek. In reply, Williams gave a pretty bold answer, as she said, “anyone could have been drawn to me.”

Despite her confident approach at the beginning of the tournament, she failed to move to the second round as she lost to Harmony Tan in the first round. However, she felt pretty good about playing in a Grand Slam tournament after nearly a year on the sidelines. Now, she is looking forward to her home Grand Slam, i.e. the US Open, in search of her 24th Grand Slam title. The US Open will start on 29th August.
