Recently, she featured in the Guadalajara Open and had a run to the round of 16. However, she crashed out after losing to Maria Sakkari. Recently, the American sat down for a podcast with Kamau Murray. She revealed her plans post-retirement. However, unlike the popular trend, Pickleball is not on her list. Here’s why.
Collins will not play pickleball after retirement
In recent days, we have seen a trend of tennis players retiring and shifting to pickleball. There’s a striking similarity between the two sports and it is relatively easier than tennis. However, Danielle has it off the consideration list after retirement because the 28-year-old thinks she is not good at it.
“I feel like I am gotta stick to what I am good at, I have tried pickleball a few times and I am actually terrible. I just feel like I should probably stay far away from the pickleball court. That’s because I am not just good at it,” she said.
Collins has had a decent year and will be looking forward to doing better in the upcoming season.
Danielle Collins requested the cameraman to back up during the match

Although, it won’t be fair to say that the American player didn’t give a fight. In the three-set match, Collins fought hard and took the first set. However, Sakkari counterattacked later and took the next two sets to clinch the game. While it was an entertaining match, a rather bizarre thing happened during the match.
During the changeover, Collins asked the chair umpire if the cameraman can back up a little. Later, she also requested the cameraman directly to back up and give her some space.
