After her victory in 2005, the American tennis player won two more Wimbledon titles in 2007 and 2008. And the 2008 title came after defeating her younger sister 7-5, 6-4 in the championship match. Overall, the 42-year-old tennis player has grasped seven Grand Slam titles.
Venus Williams once admitted that winning Wimbledon in 2005 wasn’t the highlight
Neither Venus Williams nor her sister Serena attended Public High School, so they never got a chance to attend the normal Prom Night. However, after winning her third Wimbledon title, the Tennis legend attended a 1980-themed party. She spoke about being excited about the party and winning Wimbledon, not being the highlight of her year.

Speaking about this, she said, “It wasn’t the highlight of my year. There’s so many other things I was so excited about.”
“Seriously, it was the best time of my life. I had lace gloves, I was so 80s it was ridiculous; I was disgusted with myself.”

She continued, “We played all kinds of games like bobbing for apples. I don’t get to do that, it was amazing. I took it so seriously.” Additionally, she also talked about how she took all the games seriously that were played at the party as she has never been in the same position before.
Kyrgios made a prom-like mixed doubles proposal to Williams
Last year, the then 26-year-old Nick Kyrgios convinced the seven-time Grand Slam champion to be his mixed doubles partner at Wimbledon. The Wimbledon finalist made the mixed doubles proposal a dream charming proposal that nobody could have rejected. The Australian tennis player’s approach to Williams for the game looked like a high school prom proposal but definitely was more subtle as it does not have any card or invited audience.
