Simona Halep on the ‘incredibly challenging’ 2021 season

To begin with, the former World No.1 called 2021 an “incredibly challenging” year. Besides, while Halep dealt with personal loss, she also suffered the first severe injury in her career. As a result, she missed her “beloved” French Open and couldn’t defend her Wimbledon title.

“I was emotionally exhausted for a long period of time, and then I started to suffer some little injuries until the big one came, the calf injury in Rome. I didn’t know how to manage it because I had never faced something like that before,” Halep wrote on Twitter.

Accordingly, Halep’s confidence took a hit, and she started to question her ability to rise again. However, she overcame all those challenges and expressed her proud moment.

“Today, I feel confident that I will play well again,” Halep added. “And, with hard work, I will create some great moments on the court.”

From here on, the Romanian star is looking forward to the holidays before she begins grinding for 2022. Given her fearless personality, fans feel confident about a roaring comeback from her next season.
