The American internet entrepreneur was recently featured in an interview with Harper’s BAZAAR, in which he detailed how there has been a shift in female sports. Alexis Ohanian has been hugely impressed upon witnessing his NWSL team Angel City making massive progress in the sporting community. The popular female soccer team has already broken many sales and viewership records of the top-tier soccer league in the United States.

However, a few seasons back, there was a lot of skepticism surrounding the inception of the club. There were a lot of critics slamming Ohanian because of his decision to invest in women’s soccer. Reminiscing about it, the Reddit co-founder recently revealed how his own way of silencing those naysayers of women’s sports.

Ohanian said that he used to save screenshots of tweets criticizing him for addressing the importance of women’s sports. He added, “Every time we hit a new ticket sales record or sellout attendance, I tag the people on Twitter with a screenshot of their tweet telling me I was going to lose all my money and that no one cared about women’s soccer.”

Ohanian has also been slamming the critics of women’s basketball

Apart from women’s soccer, the American tennis legend’s husband has been an avid fan of NCAA women’s basketball. On his online platforms, Ohanian has often showcased his support for female college basketball teams including the recently clowned NCAA champion, Louisiana State University Tigers.

The tech entrepreneur was also thrilled when some collegiate women athletes outnumbered men on social media. In the process, Ohanian criticized all those authorities and fans who disregarded women’s sports.
