Serena Williams about Michael Jackson
When the King of Pop said goodbye, the entire world came to a standstill. Everyone, including Williams, took a trip down memory lane. Also, she expressed how glad she was to meet him in person. Williams said, “I was honored to meet him. “I think any celebrity who met Michael Jackson was completely awed. I kept thinking, ‘Oh my God, oh my God. It’s him, it’s him.’ So for me, he was the celebrity of all celebrities.”

Thereafter, the former World no.1 said, “I think Michael Jackson, everyone listens to his music. The things that he did was beyond iconic.”

Apart from Williams, the four-time Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka, who belongs to the younger generation, is also a big Jackson fan. The legendary singer is still alive in the minds of such people and his music will keep introducing him to the coming generations.
Serena’s retirment tour
The 40-year-old made a comeback in the grass-courts of London. Though just after the tournament, she broke the sad news of her retirement. Serena chose her home Grand Slam for her last dance on the WTA tour. To prepare adequately for her last Grand Slam tournament, she enrolled for the Canadian Open and the Cincinnati Masters.

However, she failed to leave an impact on both the WTA 1000 events. Serena entered the American majors riding high on fan support and reached the third round, defeating the World No.2 Anett Kontaveit in the second round. Following that with teary eyes, she said goodbye to the sport and her adoring fans.
