It was last year’s US Open. Emma Raducanu had entered the qualifying round of the tournament. Despite playing in her maiden US Open, the British tennis star scripted a fairy-tale run to lift the biggest trophy of her career. She defeated Canada’s Leylah Fernandez to win her maiden Grand Slam title. What is worth noting is that she didn’t drop a single set en route to winning the title.

However, Raducanu hasn’t been able to replicate the form that she displayed at the US Open last year. She has had an inconsistent run across tournaments this season. Recently, she talked about her dream journey in Flushing Meadows.

Further, she went on to add, “Those weeks don’t come by very often. You might have one or two a year. For me, I was lucky that I had three like pretty much when it mattered really. To be honest, I don’t think I was expecting to play US Open tennis every single week, because I knew myself I was so zoned out that I was playing really, really well, some of my best tennis.”
