Iga Swiatek, the polish tennis ace, is the current world no.1 as per the revised WTA rankings released on 4th of April. For the past few weeks, Swiatek has been working really hard to reach where she is now. In fact, on her way to the no.1 ranking, she made some other note-worthy records as well.

Therefore, it won’t be wrong to say that she has earned herself the right to take a little time off the court. In order to maintain the balance between work and life, Swiatek would need some recreation. When speaking of recreation, what’s better than a road trip?

Along With Whom Would Iga Swiatek Go On a Road Trip?

While speaking to the Tennis Channel, Swiatek stumbled upon the question of who she would rather not be on a road trip with,to which she humbly replied, “That’s tough. I mean. I don’t wanna be mean, so I don’t want to answer the question.” 

However, when the question was reframed to who she would like to be on a road trip with, she had few names. She said, “Rafa. Bethanie Mattek-Sands, coz she and her husband they always cook great food. So you know, I would eat a lot for sure. My best friend Kaja Juvan. I mean, there are many.”

Swiatek and Rafa’s Bond

Swiatek has confessed several times that she admires Nadal’s endurance and gameplay and thinks of him as an idol. However, being the humble queen she is, she never put herself on his friends list.

The Pole seems to have secured a soft corner as Nadal wrote to her after sensing that her dismissal from the Australian Open would have shaken her. After all, for a 20-year-old to reach the semis and being thrashed in straight sets is bound to leave some scars. However, the Spaniard’s kind gesture helped her reach the shore as she herself admitted in an interview.

Recently, Swiatek met Nadal in Indian Wells. Being stronger than ever and clinching a title in front of her role model must have been a proud moment for the youngster. Now that she has achieved so much and has become the most valuable player of WTA, Nadal would be definitely proud.
