Swiatek and Rafa’s Bond

Swiatek has confessed several times that she admires Nadal’s endurance and gameplay and thinks of him as an idol. However, being the humble queen she is, she never put herself on his friends list.

The Pole seems to have secured a soft corner as Nadal wrote to her after sensing that her dismissal from the Australian Open would have shaken her. After all, for a 20-year-old to reach the semis and being thrashed in straight sets is bound to leave some scars. However, the Spaniard’s kind gesture helped her reach the shore as she herself admitted in an interview.
