After her triumphant victory over Osaka, Swiatek is now looking forward to the clay-court season. Undoubtedly, the 20-year-old starts as one of the strong favorites to win this year’s Roland Garros.

Speaking about playing on clay, Swiatek said, ?It’s just more fun for me to play on clay, and I always have that extra motivation before Roland Garros, so I’m pretty sure it’s going to happen also this year, and I’m just gonna be working hard. But the results we are going to see. I can’t promise anything.?

Meanwhile, Naomi Osaka is also looking forward to the season on red dirt, as she wants to prove herself on the other surfaces as well. Talking about her expectations from the clay-court season, the Japanese player said, ?I’m not really so sure. Like I’m clearly not a clay expert, but, you know, I feel like if I get my movement together, I should be pretty good.?

?I grew up on green clay, being from here, so it shouldn’t be that foreign to me. And I know, you know, Madrid, Sabalenka won that last year, so I think that there is opportunities for me to do well, as well. I think I just have to get my mentality together to know that every match would be a fight,? Osaka further said.?

Osaka congratulated Swiatek on her success

Even though Osaka lost the match, she remained gracious in defeat and congratulated Swiatek on her achievements after the Miami Open win. Even the Polish player also showed some appreciation for the Japanese player in her post-match interviews.?
