Even though Serena Williams is one of the greatest tennis athletes in history, she has been out of the court for a long time now. The former World No. 1 last played at the 2021 Wimbledon. Eyeing an 8th Wimbledon title, Williams entered the All-England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club as the 6th seed. She was up against Aliaksandra Sasnovich in the first round at The Championships.
However, Serena suffered a major hamstring injury after slipping on the grass. The injury forced her to withdraw from the tournament in the first set in her tournament opener.
