In a recent interview, Coco Gauff shared her experience in this beautiful country while revealing why this place is just like a home for her. Not only this but she also honored herself with a unique name that caught the eye of many.

As the WTA Finals approaches in Cancun, Coco Gauff finds herself right at home in Mexico. Interestingly, after winning her first grand slam of her career at the US Open and her semi-final run at the China Open, she was out of the tennis courts and will now be taking part in the year-ending WTA Finals. And for Gauff, there couldn’t have been a better venue to be back.

In a recent interview, Coco Gauff shared her excitement when she drew a parallel between Cancun’s coastal beauty and her Miami roots. She mentioned, “It reminds me of home. I live close to Miami. Everything seems familiar. Obviously the beach… I love the beach. I’m like a mermaid.” 

Her connection to the sea where she compared herself to a mermaid, hints at the sense of comfort and familiarity she gets whenever she visits Mexico. As she gears up for the WTA Finals, this Floridian tennis superstar looks all set to make an impact shortly after her US Open triumph. However, the support of the fans would play a crucial role in helping her lay her hands on the title.

In the same interview, Coco Gauff also talked about how supportive the fans have been to her. She suggested that her time in Mexico has been really great as she got to connect with the fans who love her and give her some much-needed confidence.

“Oh, they are really really great. I played here last year and the fans are really receiving and supportive of me so hopefully I can get the same support this time as well,” said Gauff while thanking the fans for the incredible support that they give her.

Not only this, she also gave insights on how she has been putting in some extra hours in the game to make sure that she wins the title and repeats the miracles that she pulled up in the Flushing Meadows. Thus, just days ahead of the WTA Finals, Coco Gauff is all excited as she is ready to put up a show here in Cancun. With the support of her fans, she would be willing to make it as far as she can.
