Chris Evert is one of the most famous tennis personalities in the world today. Even after her retirement, she has kept herself connected to the game. The 67-year-old works as a tennis expert and commentator.

Being a legend of the game, the American has earned a lot of respect. Apart from that, fans and everyone else in the tennis circuit like her for her behavior. Although she claims that the good girl tag has at times, annoyed her.

Evert doesn’t like the good girl tag

The 65-year-old claimed in an interview that she doesn’t like carrying the clean image she has got. Also, she pointed out that, unlike the belief, she is pretty normal and has done some bad things too.

“I know I’m no angel. I’m not as goody-two-shoes as people think, I’m a normal woman. I’ve dated a lot of guys, I’ve had a few drinks. I’ve told dirty jokes, I’ve cursed, I’ve been rude to my parents. There’s nothing in my life, no skeletons in my closet that people should be so shocked about. But I’ve lived a normal life,” she said.

Although it might sound like a humble reply from a nice person, it must be understandably uncomfortable for her.

The bond between Chris Evert and Martina Navratilova

Two of the best tennis players of their time were fierce rivals on the court. A match between Evert and Navratilova always promised entertainment. However, the two were equally great mates outside the court. Over the years, the two have had each other’s back in challenging times in life as well as in careers. Even after retirement, the two seem to be pretty close.

Although, one couldn’t figure it out, watching them face each other. Interestingly, both the legends have won an equal number of Grand Slam titles (18).

Talking about their rivalry, they faced each other 80 times in over 15 years. Statistically, it is the most times two women tennis players have faced each other. The last time we witnessed them compete was in the 1988 Chicago Open. Over the years, the ladies have been a perfect example of lifelong friendship.
