Johanna Konta was once a household name in British tennis. The 30-year-old has won 4 titles on the WTA tour and has been ranked as high as World No. 4. She achieved it on July 17, 2017, post her semi-final finish at Wimbledon.
Konta sent shockwaves across the tennis circuit when she announced her decision to retire from the sport last year, at the age of just 30. She had been struggling with a persistent knee problem and thus decided to step away from a remarkable career. Johanna Konta reveals infelicitous remarks on her retirement
While speaking to The Telegraph, she revealed that a tennis press had asked her whether her relatively early retirement was to start a family with partner Jackson Wade, whom she married last month.

I’m not sure they’re asking Rafa Nadal when he was finally going to marry his girlfriend before he did, or when he is going to have kids.”
Johanna Konta had announced her shock retirement in December last year. While informing about this news, she had said, “My playing career has come to an end, and I am so incredibly grateful for the career that it turned out to be.”
