Serena Williams’ illustrious career has finally come to an end after dominating the circuit for more than 25 years. In the third round of the US Open, she lost against Tomljanovic 7-5 6-7(4) 6-1 for a spot in the fourth round. Several celebrities sent out messages of support for the legendary American after the last match of her career.

Many thought Serena would struggle to perform this year because she had only played 4 singles matches before the US Open. However, Serena shocked everyone by winning her second-round match against the world no.2 Anett Kontaveit.

I’m proud of you, my friend—and I can’t wait to see the lives you continue to transform with your talents.“

On August 9, 2022, the 23-time Grand Slam champion brought the world to a standstill. The American legend had decided to retire after nearly three decades of dominating the tennis circuit.
