A surprise attendance by Steffi Graf also ensured that more people would watch and play the paddle sport. Recently, another tennis legend took up the mantle of a pickleball enthusiast. After legends such as Andre Agassi, John McEnroe, Michael Chang, and Andy Roddick, Serena Williams is readying up to swing the paddle. The news was shared by her sister, Venus Williams on her Instagram story.
Serena Williams retired after her 2022 US Open stint ended in round 3 against Ajla Tomljanović. However, there have been rumors of her coming back to the sport she adores. Many cryptic posts and statements have fans wondering whether the Queen of the Court will return. It might be finally happening, albeit in a different racket sport?

The younger Williams sister has jumped on the pickleball bandwagon. She has received the proper equipment to play and practice the sport. Now, she only has to step on the court and become the ‘Queen of Pickleball’. Serena got the paddles from the company ‘Best Paddles’, which is backed by none other than Jamie Foxx. The actor made the paddle company in collaboration with producer Taylor Chien.

The Best Paddle’s official Instagram account posted a video of Serena talking about how she finally received her paddles. The shipment was delayed at first, but she eventually got them after three months, and she was fired up. Serena said, “I finally got my paddles, Jamie. It only took three months, but I finally got it. Imma tear this up, then Imma tear you up.”
Venus Williams also shared the post as a story on her Instagram. Venus shared the story with the caption “Shots fired! 😂“.

The younger Williams once slammed tennis purists
Serena Williams started playing pickleball last year. Additionally, she has been a proponent of the sport for quite some time. And she has enjoyed playing the sport to such an extent that the younger Williams sister once criticized tennis purists for speaking out against pickleball. When Williams made an appearance on the Ellen Show, she talked about pickleball. She said that she found the sport to be a lot of fun and that it could possibly become a second career of hers.

Williams also said that people who speak out against pickleball are too serious and need to calm down. She enjoyed the sport, since it required a lot less running around than tennis.
