Serena has begun her last tournament. She defeated Danka Kovinic of Montenegro in the first round of the US Open on Monday at Arthur Ashe Stadium.

With her 23 Grand Slam victories and more than two decades of domination of the tour, the legendary American has cemented her legacy as the best player in the open era.

To catch a glimpse of the GOAT one last time, her fans from all over the world have come up with a lot of ways to watch the match. One such astonishing moment took place on a flight, where everyone tuned in to their screen just to watch the GOAT play.

The 23-time Grand Slam champion is competing in her last professional tournament. People from all over the world watched Serena’s victory as social media surged with messages of support for the younger Williams sister.

Serena takes over the first round

In her farewell tournament, the 23-time Grand Slam champion breezed into the second round of the US Open on Monday in New York. In front of more than 23,000 fans, the 40-year-old defeated Montenegrin Danka Kovinic 6-3, 6-3.

Williams, a former world number one, had dropped to a ranking of 605 on Monday after winning just one match on the tour. With that kind of form, emotions seemed to get the better of the legendary American in the first few games. However, she rallied past her initial struggles and comfortably beat Kovinic.
