Serena Williams is one of the modern-day greats. The 40-year-old has 23 Grand Slam titles to her name. She is only one short of equaling the record for most Grand Slam titles. However, the fans are waiting for that to happen for a long time now. Notably, the last Grand Slam title for the American came way back in 2017. Back then, she defeated her sister Venus Williams to lift the Australian Open title for the seventh time in her career.

Serena made it to the semifinal of the 2021 Australian Open, where she lost to Naomi Osaka. She had a long break of almost a year after Wimbledon 2021 and returned to play singles in Wimbledon 2022. Although she was under-prepared and lost her first-round match, Serena will go better prepared to the US Open this time.
