In the world of women’s tennis, Venus and her sister Serena Williams have been formidable forces. The manner in which they transformed the game has been noteworthy. They have gone on to inspire a number of people from all over the world and even players from the Tour.

American tennis player Frances Tiafoe spoke about being inspired by Serena Williams and her sister Venus. The 23-year-old player confessed that had it not been for the William sisters, he would never have been encouraged to pick up a tennis racquet.

The former Australian Open quarterfinalist stated, “The name of the Williams is so important. Without what they have achieved, I would never have entered the world of tennis. In my day, apart from them, there were no other colored players. What they have also succeeded in bringing, in their wake, are the Sloane Stephens, the Coco Gauffs.”

Frances Tiafoe and Serena Williams share a close rapport 

Speaking of the two players, Frances and Serena played in the same team at the Hopman Cup 2019. Ever since then, they have shared a close rapport. He does not shy away from revealing his brotherly bond for the 23-time Grand Slam winner.

Coming to tennis, Tiafoe performed well during the latter part of the season. He reached the third round of the Wimbledon Championships and the fourth round of the US Open. At the All England Club, he knocked out Tsitsipas in the first round.

Moving on to Williams, she has not been featured since her exit from the Wimbledon Championships. She twisted her ankle which forced her to withdraw midway.
