Collins made an early exit from the Brisbane and Hobart tournaments this year. However, in the Melbourne Slam, she reached the second round but then got defeated by Iga Swiatek (4-6,6-3,4-6). She made a stellar run to the R16 in the Abu Dhabi Open defeating the likes of Naomi Osaka but was eventually defeated by Elena Rybakina in her next match. Well, Collins has got off to a winning start in Indian Wells. Danielle Collins defeated 19YO Russian tennis player, Erika Andreeva in her first match to set up an intriguing faceoff against Iga Swiatek. But have they met each other earlier?
