Ever since they made their mark on the women’s circuit, Venus and Serena Williams have dominated the game with their usual poise and prowess. The American tennis legends started their journeys at a very young age under the guidance of very talented coaches and trainers. However, despite having those dominating traits, the Williams sisters are two completely different players with their own intimidation factors.

Speaking about Venus and Serena, the former tennis Australia pro, Evie Dominikovic recently drew a striking contrast between the two of them.

Evie Dominikovic says Serena Williams was more intimidating than her sister, Venus

The 42-year-old former tennis player was recently featured in an episode of ‘The First Serve podcast’, in which she talked about the Williams sisters. During the show, Evie Dominikovic opened up about one of the biggest matches of her stellar tennis journey. It was her 2003 French Open clash against the 7 singles Grand Slam champion which she regards as one of the most memorable moments.

During that season, Venus was among the top-seeded players on the women’s circuit. However, she got defeated in many major finals in a row against her sister, Serena, who was the dominant force back then. Taking note, Dominikovic was asked to give her own assessment of the Williams sisters in terms of the intimidation factor. The former Australian tennis player, who has played against both of them, detailed that Serena was much more intimidating than her sister.

Dominikovic said, “I think Serena is more intimidating and she’s more. They just got two different games. She’s more powerful. Venus is…she’s powerful, but consistent and she gives you time where Serena doesn’t get your time. She takes her time away from you. So yeah, grass for me is not my favorite surface. Yeah, and I never did well on grass. so and it’s Yeah, and you can’t really compare as well.”

Later, the show host, Todd Scoullar brought to light one of her old statements in which she called Venus more erratic than her sister. He asked her, “I found a quote that you said regarding to them. I don’t know if you remember what you said at the time but you said ‘you’re happy to play Venus and not Serena. Serena is a lot better, and doesn’t misses much. Venus is more erratic’, that sound about right?”

Dominikovic answered by saying, “Yeah, that is very, very true.”
