However, in the summit clash, she was up against Lindsay Davenport, the second seed. Venus caused a massive upset as she defeated Davenport in straight sets to clinch her first Grand Slam title. Venus Williams on her fashion being a cut above the rest

Earlier this month, the elder Williams sister appeared in Glamour UK magazine as their cover star for the October edition. During an interview for this magazine, she opened up about how she and Serena became fashion icons on the tennis court.

Talking about her favorite on-court look, Venus said, “My favourite on-court beauty look, definitely for years – I wore a bunch of eyeliner. Now I’ve moved on to lashes, but I figured it was my suit when I walked on the court and called it the eyeliner club.”

Further, she added, “Serena and I seemed to be the only ones in it, but we were in it to win it. It’s really fun when you walk out knowing you look great, you feel great.”

Earlier this week, the Japanese tennis star took to Instagram to express her feelings after Venus’ appearance as a cover star for Glamour UK magazine. She re-shared the post on her Instagram story along with a couple of emojis, including the red-heart one.
