Italian Open 2021 Draw: Serena Williams and Naomi Osaka on Collision Course, Barty Yet Again to Face Sabalenka

The Mutua Madrid Open 2021 will conclude tomorrow, and the tennis circuit will move to Italy for another Masters 1000 tournament on clay. The Italian Open 2021 will begin right after the Madrid Open 2021. The WTA draw and bracket of the tournament is out and one can trace the path of Ashleigh Barty, Naomi Osaka, Serena Williams, and others using it.

World No.1 Ashleigh Barty will begin as the top-seeded player in the tournament. She is playing amazingly well in the clay-court season this year and is currently on a 10-match winning streak on clay. The Australian will face Aryna Sabalenka in the finals of the Mutua Madrid Open 2021 today.

Naomi Osaka will begin as the second-seeded player. The Japanese star hasn’t been consistent on clay and recently lost in the second round of the Madrid Open. However, she started training right after her loss and can cause quite a few upsets.

Simona Halep will be the third seed after Barty and Osaka. However, all the eyes will be on Serena Williams who will kick off her clay-court campaign at the Italian Open 2021. She missed the tournament last year fur to an Achilles injury, but is all fit and fine to compete in Rome this year.

World No.1 Barty and Sabalenka can also re-create their Madrid Open final if both reach the quarters of the Rome Masters this year. Other quarter-finals will feature Sofia Kenin and Elina Svitolina going head to head and defending champion Simona Halep facing Bianca Andreescu there.
